New Year’s Day

In England people celebrate the New Year from the evening of December 31st into January 1st. Traditionally this holiday is celebrated with big parties, fireworks, singing and dancing.

As the clock - Big Ben - strikes midnight, people all over the UK cross their arms across their chests and link hands with everyone closeby them. They sing a song called 'Auld Lang Syne' reminding them of old and new friends.

Personally, I would like to spend this holiday in London near River Thames to acquire an incredible experience of watching an iconic firework. I would celebrate the New Year in the company of my new English friends, with toasts of champagne and exchanging good wishes for the upcoming year. Of course, we would sing the traditional song ‘Auld Lang Syne’. I would like to spend the New Year in London because it’s my favourite holiday in general, so it would be so unusual to celebrate it in another country.

Valentine's Day is a romantic observance celebrated in the UK and many other countries every February 14. This holiday has attracted my attention because it’s a very bright, positive and loving day. The Valentine’s day is traditionally celebrated by sending anonymous cards to anyone you secretly love, writing poems to each other, giving flowers and chocolates. If you ask me, I would like to spend this holiday with my boyfriend, we would share cards and presents, then we would enjoy spectacular view from London Eye - the world’s tallest cantilevered observation wheel, it would be so romantic. Finally, we would finish our evening at the restaurant ‘Clos Maggiore’ in London.

Chocolate meltdown in Oxford

This holiday is celebrated in Oxford every year in different dates, but in 2023 it will be celebrated in the 14th of January. It is an ideal day for all chocolate lovers, just like me. Sweet fun includes all kinds of adventures with inflatable toys for children, chocolate tastings from local businesses and confectioners, as well as carriage rides that will take you to various meltdown stops in the upper part of the city and to the Oxford Community Arts Center, where the main Meltdown tasting event takes place.
Personally, I would like to spend this festival with my little cousin Lena, because she is addicted to chocolate too. We would go to Oxford Community Arts Center and taste all the kinds of chocolate!
