Scientist believe that they are so close to bring back a once extinct animal. Scientist are trying to bring back the mammoths they haven't existed on this earth for 10,000 years. Mammoths lived during the ice age when sheets of ice covered Europe,Asia, and North america. Even though mammoths haven't romed for thousands of year a U.S. based comp wants to de-extinct animals to reintroduce them to to wild. Scientist are trying to make a hybrid animal a combination of a woolly mammoth and its close living relative an asian elephant. scientist plane to remove the nucleus that contains DNA from an elephant egg and edited genome inside a new cell's nucleus. An electric pulse fuses the two the fused cell begins to divide forming and embryo they than implant the embryo into the womb of a female asian elephant. scientist also could try and grow the hybrid mammoth in a lab inside an artificial womb. After developing for 22 months the mammoth elephant hybrid calf is born. Some people are asking if they are able to survive in these conditions and if they would do more harm than good. The ultimate goal of the woolly mammoth is to bring back this extinct creature. scientist believe that if they succeed healthy herd may one day repopulate vast tracts of tundra and boreal forest in Eurasia and north america.The woolly mammoths weight greatly impacted the landscape of tundra. scientist hope that if the can bring the woolly mammoth back they can promote the grasslands again because grasslands absorb less sunlight that trees keeping the ground cooler.But we don't know if it will work scientist haven't proven this will be successful or if they even can but they are trying to bring back the woolly mammoth and if they can bring back this cool creature what other creatures will they try and bring back
