After they had been settled there for a little while the Charles Stuart an explorer camped there on the 8th of February 1830. The first road bridge over the Murray was completed in 1879. Murray Bridge also has heaps of heritage listed sites.

Murray Bridge is also home to the Bunyip attraction which is a replica of the legendary monster. When you put a dollar in the machine and seeing the monster emerging from the water with screeching noises. Murray Bridge is also known for its basketball which won a number of State country championships. Many of its players went on to represent Murray Bridge in the national’s championship.
