1. Introduction
Art does not have the same reputation as it does in other countries, which prevents Singapore from becoming a hub for the Arts. From 2013 to 2015, the interest in Art increased from 28% to 41%. But from 2015 to 2017, it dropped to 37%, with 50% of people surveyed claiming they don't have enough time for the Arts [1].

This issue is important, as the Arts is needed to build a foundation for Singapore's culture and the Singaporean identity [2]. To sustain the arts we have to realise that an increase in public interest would be necessary, that the Arts' impact on our culture is incredibly important and that Artists having a way to survive on the Arts is necessary.

Words: 133 words

2. Discussion

2.1 Audience Participation

An increase in audience participation will be necessary for art to sustain itself in Singapore. What I mean by this is that a main reason as to why the arts is dying in Singapore is due to a lack of public interest and participation [1]. Through means such as advertisement, or art-promotion programmes, audience participation can be promoted and encouraged. For example, in France, art is blooming as a result of the audience participation there and therefore is able to sustain itself [3]. In comparison to Singapore, where audience participation is low and art is struggling. Therefore, audience participation is necessary for art to sustain itself.

Word Count: 106 words

2.2 Artist Survival

(still doing)

[1] National Arts Council, "Population Survey of the Arts," Apr. 29, 2019. INTRODUCTION
Technology has advanced quickly over the years and has become an essential part of our lives. 60 to 85 percent of the people lead a sedentary lifestyle and uses technology frequently [1]. This is an important issue as many people are not taking care of their physical well-being as they are too busy using technology that is in their possession. Technology has helped people physically by the use of fitness apps to help track people's fitness and also reminds them to exercise frequently. However, technology has also affected us physically negative by causing people to have eyesight problems and bad posture. it also has led to a higher risk of obesity and other detrimental health problems which may also lead to mental health problems. hence, overall technology has impacted people negatively although it has also positively helped people.

[1]C. Birds carry and transmit diseases to humans, such as Ornithosis, E.Coli, and Salmonella[1]. This issue is important because there might be an outbreak of diseases and causing environmental issues to the public. Over the years, Singapore's government has taken action to improve the situation. To create a safer environment for Singapore, there will need to have enforcement notices, Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore(AVA) working with the town council, and other agencies and grassroots leaders went door by door.
How can Singaporeans be encouraged to reduce their use of plastic?

1. INTRODUCTION
Plastic waste is an issue that has recently came to prominence in Singapore. The figure includes 820 million plastic bags from supermarkets, 467 million PET bottles, and 473 million plastic disposable items like takeaway containers. One factor which exacerbates the issue is out low recycling rate, at 6 per cent in 2017 [1]. . There are a few key ideas that will help alleviate this plastic waste situation. The first is educating the youth of the 3Rs concept – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Second is reducing nationwide use of plastic packaging to lessen the amount of plastic waste. Thirdly, engaging private corporations to package their products in alternative environmentally friendly packaging and to raise awareness about reducing the reliance on disposable plastics. (119 words)

2.DISCUSSION
2.1 Educating youth
Singapore planned on working with schools and public waste collectors to create a program for recycling on 3Rs and awareness kits are provided for pre-schoolers in planning activities to educate the 3Rs. They would also help through awards that recognize schools annually [2]. Recycling drive are conducted frequently to increase student awareness and students were given an opportunity to join friendly environmentally activities clubs for their learning journeys. This will also benefit on youth for using recyclable plastics to be creative on designing new use of plastic as for this, it helps prevent pollution and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

INTRO.
Sports brings the Singaporean people closer due to the aspect of teamwork, working together is essential in sports. Singapore schools provides various team sports such as, soccer, netball, basketball and floor ball. Many of these sports require regular training, which nurture unity, sportsmanship and teamwork.[1] Studies shows how an average training session last for about 3-4 hours a day and 2-4 days a week.[2]

Discussion

2.1) Importance of teamwork in sports.

It is apparent that there is a team aspect in all sports, for example in volleyball no one can touch the ball more than twice in a row. The team has to get the ball over the net in less than 4 hits. The team that lets the ball touch the floor first loses the point. This can teamwork requirement can be seen in most sport. Another example can be in American football. The main objective is to get the egged shaped football all the way to the opposite end zone, most of the time the team with the better tactic or play, that has been practiced over and over multiple times perform better, the teamwork in this scenario is how the offence and defense have to work together to get the touchdown. In the NFL the team with the best teamwork usually makes it to the play-offs in the 2019 season the team with the highest sacked quarterback was Deshaun Watson who plays QB for Houston Texans who was sacked 55 times in the 2019 season. The team ended the season in 9th place with 10 wins and 6 losses. [3]. this shows that teamwork plays an important role in sports, this is key in making Singapore a more unified country.

2.2) Sports fostering relationships.

Sports naturally provide bonds that would not be made elsewhere such as the bond between teammates and the rivalry within the sport. An example would be how the sport anime Haikyuu, the story revolves around this height challenged main character that has very good athleticism. In the story the main character is always competing with the strongest team and somehow there is always a way the main character and his teammates find a way to beat the opponent. The main point that the main character never give up and make new friends and along his journey to be the like his role model.

2.3) Training in sports.

Sports training is a special process of preparation of sports persons based on scientific principles aimed at improving and maintaining higher performance capacity in different sports activities. It is a particular type of training designed to improve fitness and abilities to perform in a given sport. For example there is playing a simulated game done by volleyball players and footballers to get the muscles loose and ready for any situation. Practicing specific tactic or plays done by footballers and American footballers. Being able to practise these tactics can be the big difference between a win and a loss in some situation.

References
[1]https://www.straitstimes.com/sport/schools/uniting-over-sticks-and-balls?close=true
[2]https://www-sciencedirect-com.tp-library.idm.oclc.org/science/article/pii/S1469029219300810 [3] https://www.nfl.com/standings/league/2019/reg/

1. INTRODUCTION
Birds can transmit infection and diseases to people which can affect their health. This issue is important so that it will not affect more people living in singapore. In the year 2016, scientists reveal how birds can carry potentially fatal infections to humans by transmitting disease through their feaces, feathers and nests[1].To prevent this, the AVA works with NEA and Town Councils to ensure proper disposal of food waste at hawker centres and within residential areas so that it will not attract the availabilty of food to the birds [2]. The public also has an important role to play not having in contact with wild birds and not feeding them [3].
2.Discussion
2.1) Performing inspection checks
The purpose of the inspection in bird stores is to carry out safety regulations and requirement of the birds so that it does not transmit disease to the owner when it is being bought.
[1]https://www.rentokil.com/blog/bird-diseases/#.XtWvCDozbb0
[2]https://www.mnd.gov.sg/newsroom/parliament-matters/q-as/view/oral-answer-by-ministry-of-national-development-on-control-of-wild-bird-population-in-hdb-estates
[3]https://www.inspection.gc.ca/animal-health/eng/1299155513713/1299155693492

1. Introduction
Disturbing noise that affects humans and animals’ well-being as well as natural processes in environment is unavoidable as Singapore continues to develop. In 2016, Singapore was called the city that never sleeps, with the worst light pollution level of 100% due to high usage of energy for lights [1]. Consequences of these pollution can be dire and dreadful as the effects do not just affect human beings, animals and our mother nature are also negatively affected. Hence, it is necessary to take immediate measures to tackle such issues. With innumerable great inventions today, installing light motion sensor and noise monitoring device as well as organizing campaigns or talks for people could be some effective ways to reduce the pollution level. (119 words)

2. Discussion
2.1 Light motion sensor to floodlight Singapore’s road

Having light motion sensor in streetlamps is one practical way to tackle light pollution in Singapore. A study from The New World Atlas of Artificial Night Sky Brightness, said that Singapore's use of artificial light exceeds the level of light pollution tolerable per capita [1]. Using LEDs does not reduce the pollution level as they are just energy-efficient and sturdier as compared to incandescent bulbs. However, with motion sensor, lights will only be on when motion is detected, giving unnecessary or unused light to remain off. Thus, energy consumption and the overall cost is minimized, mitigating light pollution in Singapore. (99 words)

2.2 Installation of Noise Monitoring Device

Noise monitoring device can be installed in areas with the intention to oversee the noise level produced. Although noise level in residential areas has been limited and stated clearly by NEA, numbers of complaint received is still increasing [2]. Hence, a project working on noise monitoring device is still ongoing so that noise produced in community spaces can be better kept track by government can keep track on noise produced in community spaces [3]. With that, it is hoped that noise pollution can be tackled with such device in place, giving a pleasant and unspoiled area of stay for residents to rest. (100 words)

2.3 Campaigns or Talks to raise awareness of the people

To have everyone to contribute in resolving the issue, campaigns or talks given by related authority is another effective action to be taken. By educating people on the effects of these pollution on both humans and wildlife, it helps to create higher awareness and generate satisfactory outcomes in tackling the issue. If most people are aware and understand the severity of it, we can do our parts to invest in various ways for both light and noise pollution level to be alleviated. Such contribution from individual can be powerful when majority of us come together and fight against the pollution. (100 words)

3. Conclusion
In conclusion, it is vital for Singapore to address such issue so that consequences brought by the pollution will be alleviated. To achieve favorable outcome, all should come together in tackling the issue despite just having measures implied by government because it takes two hands to clap. Therefore, actions like establishing light motion sensor and noise monitor devices plus organizing campaigns or educational talks by related authority can be taken to reduce the pollution level in Singapore.

1. Introduction
Singapore is the most light polluted country in the world [1]. Noise pollution is also an issue for Singapore, as Singapore is a small and urban country.

Noise and light pollution have adverse effects on humans and wildlife. Therefore, Singapore is faced with the task of minimising its noise and light pollution.

Singapore’s National Environment Agency (NEA) has implemented limits on the maximum noise levels during the different times of the day. NEA restricts the timings of construction works to reduce noise pollution [2]. Singapore's Land Transport Authority (LTA) are replacing street lamps with light-emitting diode (LED) [3].
2. Discussion
2.1 Maximum noise levels.
Singapore’s National Environment Agency (NEA) has implemented a limit restricting the noise from construction sites and factories near residential areas. The maximum noise level is 65 decibels, 60 decibels, and 55 decibels during the day, evening and night respectively [2]. Exposure to noise level above 85 decibels can result in hearing loss. Therefore, the limit ensures a safe noise level in residential areas and reduce noise pollution.

1. INTRODUCTION

It is no question that the gaming industry is evolving continuously with the advent of modern technologies. With this advancement, the gaming industry is able to push the boundaries of gaming and create a diverse gaming community. Unfortunately, video games are created and designed to be addictive. Teenager’s gaming addiction has negatively affected their mental health and daily lives. In Singapore, a total of 90 cases related to excessive gaming and device was recorded in 2018 which is thrice as much as in 2015 [1]. Also, in 2018, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified gaming disorder into the International Classification of Disease the International Classification of Diseases [2]. This shows that there is a need to provide aid to the youths struggling with this addiction. With the help of counselling sessions, therapy and the DigitalMindset programme, the Singapore government can help youths overcome gaming addiction. (127 words)

2. DISCUSSION

2.1 Counselling Sessions

Parents can also go for family counselling sessions to learn parenting techniques and appropriate methods to handle their children who may retaliate when their devices are confiscated. For example, a student in Jurong West Secondary School turned violent and pinned their parents to the floor when their parents tried to take away their devices [1]. This shows that parents need to be cautious of their words and actions as it may trigger their child to retaliate either verbally or physically. Also, a poor parent-child relationship is associated with increased problem gaming [3]. By educating them through the counselling sessions, parents can strengthen their relationship with their child and help them overcome their addiction without anyone getting hurt. (117 words)

2.2 DigitalMindset Programme

Parents and schools can refer their children or students into the DigitalMindset programme, launched by Touch Community Services. This programme organizes engaging physical activities for the youths to enjoy. Examples of these activities are laser tag and dragon-boating. The idea is to provides teenagers an alternative activity which also give similar impulses to gaming [1]. Through this experience, teenagers will discover new hobbies they may spend time in the future doing and perhaps begin a new active lifestyle. With the healthier alternative, the teenagers will spend more time on their new hobby at their leisure and lesser time on video games. (100 words)

2.3 Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Adolescents could undergo CBT which is an effective short-term treatment for people with gaming addiction. Patients who undergone CBT were told to do a pre and post test which showed a significant reduction in Hostility, Psychoticism, and Global Severity index [2]. This validates the effectiveness of CBT, especially the decrease in hostility which proves that the patients are able to control their feelings or actions when in the state of anger better after the therapy. Hence, adolescents who react physically when their devices are cut off should choose to go for CBT to help them overcome their gaming addiction. (99 words)

3. CONCLUSION

With the rapid advancement of technology, the Singapore government should place more of their attention towards teenage gaming addiction. By supporting the services that help overcome the issue such as DigitalMindset programme, therapy and counselling sessions, the youths struggling with gaming addiction will receive the sufficient help they certainly need. Consequently, improving the mental health of the youths and their daily lives. (62 words)

REFERENCES

[1] L.

1. INTRODUCTION
The use of Artificial Intelligence in Singapore has constantly been growing since the Government dedicated S$500 million to support AI activities under the Research, Innovation and Enterprise 2020 (RIE2020) plan [1]. In the battle against COVID-19, local technology enterprises are working closely with healthcare groups to deploy AI to tackle the evolving situation in a more effective and efficient manner [2]. As the competition with other countries to develop AI intensifies, Singapore cannot fall behind as the country grows economically. Sectors such as logistics are also looking at the use of AI to increase their productivity and have better performance. In the security sector, AI has been put in place by researchers from NUS and NTU to incorporate speech recognition features to enable quicker and accurate information to be recorded by emergency dispatchers, effectively saving lives [3].
2. DISCUSSION
2.1 Maximising Singapore's Healthcare Resources with AI
Artificial Intelligence can greatly reduce human errors and increase efficiency of the healthcare workers. AI companies are partnering with Ministry of Health to implement use of AI at hospitals. For instance, medical data, reports and results no longer have to be double-checked, as the data are computed and scrutinized carefully by AI, maximising the productivity of the staff. Thus, this helps maintain quality assurance to patients, as human errors are very slim due to high accuracy of AI technology.
REFERENCES
[1] S.K. The survey consists about 2,800 Singaporeans aged between 17 and 75 found that they are adequately having good money habits. In 2 of 3 Singaporeans save regularly but have difficulty in planning ahead[1]. Singapore Banks DBS launched a digital planner to help Singaporeans keep track of their

finances[2]. The government has courses and programs for young adults with SkillsFuture[3]. This shows that young people lack the importance of financial literacy. In a statistic given by the NAC in 2019, from 2015 to 2018, the total amount of arts & cultural organisations has decreased from 5749 to 4699 [1]. This is concerning as there needs to be enough exposure and attention to the art scene locally. To prevent the art scene from vanishing, there has to be steps taken. There will need to be local support, government support and also a 5-year plan[2].
2.DISCUSSION

2.1 Local Support for the Art Scene

In order for the art scene to grow successfully and internationally, there needs to be a strong local support from Singaporeans. In Singapore, the government place great emphasis on financial literacy to Singaporeans, thus, financial education is conducted by CPF Board in secondary and tertiary institutions.

Based on the United Nations (UN) projection, the Singapore population is expected to reach 6.34 million in 2030, which 1.8 million of it are aged 65 and above [1]. As of 2019, the Singapore Department of Statistics recorded that 581,700 are aged 65 and above [2]. With Singapore moving ahead to a smarter nation. The Singapore government needs to encourage the elderly population to move forward with being digitally ready so that they can transact and communicate with loved ones without feeling left behind with the digital transformation of Singapore.

With the advancement of the smart nation, measures such Tech Connect Initiative, PA Senior Academy course and affordable mobile plans for the elderly this will be helpful as they will not feel lost or left behind in the digital transformation of Singapore.

[1] M. Introduction
What could be some challenges if the Singapore government were to implement a mass surveillance apparatus such as this?

The network of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras will expand significantly, The Government will also, where necessary, pass laws to require building owners and organisers of major events to step up security. Singapore is among nations experimenting with facial recognition at immigration checkpoints.

[1] Surveillance will expand significantly over the years.

1. INTRODUCTION
Mass surveillance has seen an increasing surge in demand in many nations across the world. Singapore is ranked 11th in the world for most CCTV's installed with 86000 cameras island-wide [1]. Singapore has also endeavoured into the use of metadata and information sharing for mass surveillance among businesses in Singapore, which however, presents a few challenges. Those few challenges include lack of cooperation, outrage over privacy risks, handling of information as well as its laws. This challenges presents various consequences and brings about a need to solve this issues in order to implement mass surveillance apparatus in Singapore
(98 words)
2. DISCUSSION
2.1 Lack of Cooperation
The Singaporean Government would face difficulty in cooperating with businesses in information sharing and 'metadeta' due to conflicting company interest. As an example, a study of 500 professionals in the Asia-Pacific overseeing markets such as those in Australia, China, Hong Kong and Singapore, concludes that 1/3 of the Singapore companies surveyed have distributed knowledge to players in the industry of cyber blackmail, below 44% the average in Asia-Pacific and half of the proportion in China [2]. This is due to the fact that companies do not want to risk data breaches and tarnish company reputation [2] which might intercept any form of cooperation.
2.2 Outrage over privacy risks
The sharing of data itself may
lead to outrage among citizens due to risk of privacy and distrust between citizens and the government. In India, citizens tend to use objects to conceal their faces in order to decrease the risk of identification by police facial recognition software as well as publishing various comics on affordable ways to conceal their identities to protect themselves [3]. This is also coupled with such latest technology having inadequate ruling as well as alleged suppression of opposition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, upholding a Hindu nationalist agenda [3], serve to create tension between the citizens and government as well as a possibility of escalating into more damage.
2.3 Handling of information & Law
With the Government holding power over people's information, laws must be in place to protect the people from misuse of information for any illicit motives.
[1]P.

2. DISCUSSION

2.1 Equipping Students with the Right Skill sets

Computational thinking enables students to be better suited for technology-heavy jobs.

For instance, computing can be taken as an O-level subject and computer science can be taken for A levels so that students can contribute in the technology or technology-related sector. Computational thinking enables students to be active creative partners and problem-solvers. These students-who also have to be technology-savvy-will be better suited for these technology -intensive jobs that will soon enter the digital economy more frequently. This is due to the computational thinking-related opportunities provided by schools in Singapore. Hence, by allowing students to be creative collaborators and problem-solving people, students are better equipped for technology-intensive jobs.
