Reflection on Johns Gospel

John’s Gospel is like a deep dive into who Jesus is. It doesn't always follow the historic timeline of events as it's more about the cosmic, relational, and spiritual significance of His presence and God’s all-seeing, all-present nature. I appreciate John’s focus on Jesus as the divine Word, always with us, knowing us inside out.

Regarding contemporary ministry, John encourages us to lean more into relationship than ritual. It’s less about “do this, do that” and more about abiding in Christ (Jn 15). Ministry today might use this to focus on authentic connections, small groups, mentoring, or other spaces where people wrestle with big questions like “Who is Jesus to me?” Discipleship through John feels personal, like Jesus specifically calls us by name, and so we are not just another face in the congregation
