All the people in Kastav had to help to build the church, without any charge. They had to carry sand from the sea on their backs in Preluka to Kastav for building.

One of them was a poor widow with three small children which hasn't had anything to feed them with so she asked one of the Jesuits who was leading the work to free her of the responsibility so she could go work as a maid in some family to earn at least a little to feed her children. Instead of letting her, the Jesuit made her work and hit her three times with a whip. The humiliated and offended woman cursed the building of the church to always crash. The Jesuits tried three times to finish the church but it just kept crashing. Even today, we don't know why the building was crashing and was it ever finished.

 First, this hotel was built for people with rheumatism, this place had to give peace and tranquility to the upper class people, but this was impossible since the humidity made this building cold and gloomy, because the river is near . For this reason instead of improving the patients health they got worse
 People said that You can see people through the windows and hear the screams of pain at night. Without any doubt, if you want to get nightmares you only need look at it for a long time

Elvira owned in her house a beautiful fountain made with white marble, she spent hours and hours next to the fountain waiting for found the true love. An afternoon, while the young woman was walking by the market, she found the beautiful gaze of a young neapolitan who had come to Granada to resolve economic matters. Both fall in love for the other. The italian hadn’t had doubt in any second to go to see the girl’s father to ask for Elvira’s hand. When the father knew about the young man’s intentions he got angry. He didn’t want to lose his beautiful daughter and, with the keys keeper’s help, Elvira managed to send love letters. In one of them, she asked the man to meet secretly in her fountain.

The young man and woman escaped to Motril to get into a ship and travel to Naples and begin a new life together. In the way, they were trapped by her father’s contacts. Gaspar’s destiny was the death and Elvira was sended to her house in Granada. Her father ordered her to spent the rest of her days in the nunnery of “las Comendadoras de Santiago”. The young woman asked to her father a last wish before enter the nunnery, spent a few hours next to her fountain.

In the courtyard, Elvira sits next to her fountain and she started to remember all the moments with her love. She started to cry and she had fainted in the floor next to the fountain. When her mother went to the courtyard, she saw Elvira in the floor and the fountain full of the most beautiful flowers of the city. When the parents died, without descents the house, the courtyard and the fountain was abandonated and all the couples who knew the legend went to the fountain to swear eternal love and throw flowers into the fountain. The fountain is located in the “Palacio de los Córdova’s” yard
