  • It is easy for young people to become disconnected from empathy and the emotions/feelings of others.

  • Make sure that communication is open and honest.
  • Remind children to talk to adults when an issue arises. As their teacher, show them that you are always available to talk, as are school staff or a friend’s parent/caregiver.
  • Know what to keep private and what to share with others. Some information could be dangerous or possibly harmful to share with the public.
