Hello, my name is Moegamat Qaaniet Stellenboom, member 3 of Group 10 for the NASC165 Unit 2 project.

I am responsible for creating content on Energy and Change, including sharing an experiment, information about an energy company, creating a poster, and a video demonstration of a simple electrical circuit. Through this project, I hope to deepen my understanding of how energy is used in our daily lives and how to teach these concepts creatively to learners.

Moegamat Qaaniet Stellenboom 30003612

This experiment tests different everyday materials to see whether they are conductors or insulators of electricity. Using a simple circuit with a battery, wires, a bulb, and a switch. Each material is placed into the gap in the circuit. If the bulb lit up, the material was a conductor, and if the bulb stayed off, it was an insulator. The results showed that metals like coins and paper clips are conductors, while materials such as plastic, rubber, and wood are insulators. (Adatia et al., n.d.)

Moegamat Qaaniet Stellenboom 30003612

This video provides information about Sasol, a South African energy and chemical company. Sasol is well known for producing fuel, electricity, and chemical products by converting natural resources like coal and gas into useful energy forms. The company plays a major role in South Africa’s energy sector and contributes to the economy by creating jobs and supplying energy products. The video explains how Sasol works, its importance in everyday life, and also mentions how the company is working towards cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions (Sasol, 2013).

Moegamat Qaaniet Stellenboom 30003612

This assignment helped me understand Energy and Change better, especially through the practical experiment and the circuit video. I learned how to apply the scientific method in a hands on way and improved my research skills while working on the CAPS content and energy company task. Even though group work was sometimes challenging, using Padlet made collaboration creative and interesting. Overall, the project was a valuable learning experience.

I found the task interesting and fun. It allowed me to do research, reflect, and be creative. I enjoyed the group activity, because the task was broken-up for each member to do a section of the task. One of the challenges we as a group have experienced was making contact with each other to start the process. Fortunately, we were able to allocate all members and created our own WhatsApp chatgroup. On the WhatsApp chatgroup, we communicated, supported, and guided each other where needed.
