A man and Friend sat on a hill both praying and reading the bible. The progression of time Man is still their friend slowly disappears going from no longer and praying. cut to the two men by a fire but there is no Kindling Friend suggests burning the bible as kindling Man is reluctant but is egged on and burns it. The final part man prays in front of the cross for forgiveness and Friend watches sat by the campfire the bible burning.

This micro film is based on the absurdly forward thinking poem, Dover Beach by Matthew Arnold(1867). The film is an adaptation/answer to the poem. It is our idea of what we took away from the poem, but also answering the poem as it was almost a prediction to the future or what Matthew thought the future would look like..

Synopsis:

In the tranquil setting of a serene hillside/clifftop, we meet a man (Character 1) and his loyal friend (Character 2), both engrossed in prayer and scripture from the Bible. As the sun marches across the sky and the ocean erodes the beach and cliff side, time unfurls its relentless march, and we witness a gradual change in their dynamic. Character 1 remains steadfast in his devotion, while Character 2s presence begins to wane, marked by dwindling prayers and fading interest in the holy text.

Cut to a later scene, where the once vibrant campfire now struggles to ignite, lacking the usual kindling. It is Character 2 who brazenly suggests sacrificing the Bible for fuel, a notion that initially unsettles Character 1. However, under the persistent nudging of his friend, Character 1 reluctantly consents, and the flames eagerly consume the sacred pages.

In the poignant climax, we find Character 1 kneeling before a Christian stone monument on the top of the cliff, his soul heavy with remorse for the sacrilege committed. Meanwhile, Character 2 observes from a distance, on the beach that overlooks the cliff, seated by the dwindling campfire, the flames now fueled by the very essence of their faith. As Character 1 seeks redemption through prayer, his friend silently bears witness to the profound consequences of their actions, surrounded by the flickering glow of the burning Bible.

"Change Of Times" is a poignant exploration of friendship, faith, and the poet's vision of how times may change humanity, just as the ocean changes landscapes.

(No holy texts will be burned in the making of this film)

• A man is enchanted by his phone as he walks past a Massive Cross Monument on a hill.

• Another Man Sat on the hill reading His bible/ writing said Poem.

• The Waves Smashing into a rock. Symbolising the battle between science and religion.

• Cliff is also slowly being eroded.

• Faithful man walks up the hill to the cross walking past Tourists on their phones.

• on the beach people have a campfire that can't light the fire using the bible as kindling. Contrasting them is a man sat on the cliff reading the bible. 

• People find the bible and use it as Kindling

From these Ideas we created a short story to use as our initial idea for our film 

Perched on a hill, a man and his close friend read and pray from the Bible. As time passes, the man and his friend still pray and visit the hill. Gradually, over time, the friend stops coming with the man as his faith is weak and begins to dwindle. One day, the duo sits by the beach and lights a campfire, but they are missing Kindling. Now, due to his lack of faith and a newfound hatred for God, Friend goes to burn his bible in the flames. The man stops him in his tracks and pushes him away, stopping the burning. Now parting ways, the man climbs the hill to pray, whereas the friend sits by the flames, watching almost as if he were engulfed.
