  • Past Continuous / was / were + PP

    A cake was being baked by Aizere.

  • Present Perfect / have / has + been + PP

    A cake has been baked by Aizere.

  • Past Perfect / had + been + PP

    A cake had been baked by Aizere.

  • Future Simple / will + be + PP

    A cake will be baked by Aizere.

  • Be going to / to be + going to be + PP

    A cake is going to be baked by Aizere.

  • Modal in the present / modal + be + PP

    • PASSIVE VOICE NOTE


    • The object of active sentence becomes the subject in the passive sentence.

    • Only transitive verbs can be changed into the passive.

    • By + agent (person/people) is used to say who or what carries out on action.

    • With + instrument / material / ingredient is used to say what the agent used.


    • With verbs which can take two objects, such as bring, tell, send, show, teach, promise, sell, read, offer, give, lend, etc we can form two different passive sentences.
