Refugees, on the other hand, are given refugee statuses when asked for protection and often settle in a country until they are approved for resettlement (changing nationalities).

2.

We'd try to help asylum seekers by giving them the status of refugee and letting them settle in the country until they're given approval for resettlement. But it wouldn't make the process any faster, so to fix this issue permanently, we would make the process of approval be quicker and more efficient so that the people can get the help they need before it's too late.

1.Refugee is a status for asylum seekers whose claim has been evaluated and is now protected by the country they stayed in. An asylum seeker is someone who claims to be a refugee and wants international protection. However their claim hasn’t been evaluated and so their status as a refugee isn’t legally determined yet. The similarity between those two is that they are people who escape from their country to avoid prosecution, disaster and war and are now seeking international protection.

2.If we have authority in the government, we would do a couple of things regarding asylum seekers. Our action would be to give the asylum seekers benefits from the government such as food stamps, health insurance, etc. They will also be given medicine, clean food, clean water, and a clean place. They will be needing basic human rights. I would make more shelter/camp for the refugees. So that a lot of them won’t lack a place to stay. We can add a program so that people can voluntarily help whether it be a donation or them coming to the shelter/camp to console the refugees and help them. We can also add more offices and also officers, so that the asylum seekers can have more chances and be faster at getting their refugee status. However, thorough background checks are needed to make sure they are not criminals in disguise. Securities shall be added to the camp, so that the seekers can be safe. In the meantime,we will also add another program to help assimilate the asylum seekers to the country, such as integration lessons, language lessons and others to help them have a place in the country. This is so that once they are officially refugees, they can immediately live their lives.
