Currently we have four programs being implemented in different areas in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. One of these programs is Disaster Risk Management which includes helping urban and rural communities become more resilient to disasters which includes floods.

One example is our work where we are supporting local government units and community groups do crisis anticipation. • Awareness of communities and local government units on climate change adaptation and mitigation. This results to the lack of consideration of its negative impacts on government-mandated plans for LGUs and schools (e.g. LCCAP, LDRRMP, and SDRRMP), hence lack of action on climate change adaptation and mitigation.
• Climate change is perceived to be highly scientific and too technical. It is often set aside and advisories released by government are poorly understood by the general public. Climate financing is likewise very difficult to access.
• LGUs preparedness efforts focus more on evacuating their constituents pre-disaster and strengthening their capacities to conduct search and rescue post-disasters.
