Mark Ronson's channel list, mic choice and placement. As used in the BBC Maestro  course, where he breaks down his choices while producing the Back to Black Album. 
The session band, The Dap Kings, introduced him to the mono mic technique. A traditional method from the 60s. 
They then used a number of close mics to enhance and blend modern sounds.
