A full spectrum I would call it.  I have had lessons that have taught me greater things than just how to use technology, but the technology I have learned to use has been much fun! Students have also taught me to rely on them for technology use as they use it every day and are extremely comfortable with it. My creative side has also grown because of this course and for that I am thankful.

How did this course meet my expectations?

This course not only met my expectations it exceeded them as it was very hands on, which is they way I best learn new material. It allowed me to actually create content with our tech tools which was fun and engaging and challenged my creative side. The lesson facilitation also required me to create a lesson using technology rather than write an essay or something not as beneficial I believe. The interaction I had with the students and teacher ended in a great result, and it will be something I will always remember. I also discovered the importance of apps such as Zoom, which is important because you can meet and talk with anyone at anytime since it is through the computer. This made it easier for me to communicate when face to face is not an option. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have certain schools and teachers available for our shadowing and lesson facilitation as my teacher and principle cancelled on me last minute. This left me scrambling but it worked out for the better I believe. I am not sure if my suggestion is even optional or if it would be available but it is the only one I would have since I thoroughly enjoyed every other aspect of this class!

Did I meet my own expectations?

At the end of this course I believe I have met my expectations. I had a stressful time in the middle of the class and I am not sure I handled it as well as I could have but the end result of all that stress is definitely a positive one. My expectations for myself were simply to learn as much technology and get comfortable with it as I could. I believe I did that, rather it be the tech tools, seeing all the references my fellow students had or simple keyboard short cuts my knowledge and comfort zone are much greater than they were 4 months ago. My opinion for technology has also greatly changed. When I returned to school I simply did not see a need for it. I was being lazy I think because now I see great benefits and a great need for it. So yes, not only did I meet my expectations I also changed my attitude towards technology for the better. I could better myself by realizing that technology and people are not perfect, mixed together they really are not perfect so try to prepare for things not to be perfect. If a problem arises, relax and do your best to solve the issue as getting stressed never makes it better.

What are the implications of using technology in the classroom?

As long as I take responsibility as a teacher in educating my students to use technology in a positive way I see no negative implications. As long as I also monitor how my students use the communication side of it and be open to parents and guardians about my expectations for how the students use technology I see no negative implications. It is when teachers, parents or guardians let their guard down and do not properly monitor the technology in the classroom and homes .This is where implications can turn negative. This is where the youth start using technology in an abusive way rather it be in school or in home. I am not saying that it is educators complete responsibility to ensure negative results never happen. I do however think that educators and parents should rely on each other to teach responsible technology use this way implications can be positive ones! Also when used right students can blossom using technology as it is in their everyday lives anyway (social media, video games ect..) so why not integrate it into their educational lives as well.
