Description:
The link provided, brings you to the nation geographic website. This particular website reveals the 'truth' behind everyone's belief in vampires. It goes into depth about how people believed sick humans, were these evil being (Vampires). Although, in modern time there are so many more added on traits, to be considered a vampire.

Connection:
I have chosen this to be the first post, as it easily explains the reasoning being the original uprising of the idea of vampires. While explaining how the idea of vampires has evolved over time, and how they dealt with the fear. This website I believe used simplicity to get there information across. This is because all there information was from reliable sources, it makes sense and it is simple to believe.

Description:
This picture is showing Dracula; the most famous vampire in the world, slapping Edward Cullen from the movie Twilight.

Connection:
The reason behind me choosing this image was because when you think of a vampire, Dracula comes to mind. Dracula is the card board cut out of what a vampire is, no reflection, cannot walk in sunlight, pale skin, drinks blood, etc. While on the other hand, Edward was a vampire created for modern day teenage fantasy, for instance he sparkles in the sun as oppose to burning. This I suppose was all so he could go to high school! Anyway, this image was mostly to be used as a visual representation of how much the idea of vampires has evolved over time. They are no longer seen as scary and evil beings, but as creatures of lust and interest

Description:
As talked about earlier, Vampires have been around for a long time. Although, there are many different versions of what vampires look like. The basic fact that makes and vampire, a vampire is that they sustain themselves on blood alone.

Connection:
I have chosen this video because Micheal Molina perfectly explains the history of vampires. He goes way back to explain the how people believed them to look like, for example Manananggal was a version of a vampire. Manananggal was female, She was able to detach her upper torso, sprout wings and fly off to catch her prey. She was considered a version of a vampire, as she sustained herself of the taste of blood.
I believe that a lot of vampiric beliefs come from ancient wisdom. This is because the idea of vampires was developed way back in the prehistoric era, making out beliefs today, based off of ancient knowledge.

(1) What was most surprising, was the fact the vampires dated back to the prehistoric era. Vampires weren't always imaged as fanged humans, people believed Vampires were monsters, so that's how they pictures them.
(2) Kacey - I have always found Vampires to be extremely interesting. I have pretty much watched most of the vampire movies out there (OK, definitely not all!) No going to lie, I kind of what to be a vampire! Although no joke, there are 'human vampires'. In today's world, the idea of vampires is so popular, people have started to live life with diets consisting of only blood. There is a community you can join to be considered a 'vampire', you must sleep in the day and be awake at night, never walk in the sun and survive on blood alone.
(3) To be honest, question 2 answers this question. The most interesting thing we have read about vampires, was that fact that normal people are actually trying to be undead beings. This is because, it is just hard to believe. If you don't HAVE to live your life of blood alone, why would you? How would you not get sick..or weak? How would you kill of diseases in the blood you are consuming?
(4) We are most likely to remember how vampires came about in the prehistoric era and how they have evolved throughout the years.
(5) The most harmful reason of belief, would have to be emotional connection. This is because no matter what you think, your heart will change your mind. In this way of believing, your brain takes a back seat and your heart takes charge. Therefore, it could be very harmful. The lest harmful would have to be simplicity, this is because it is simple. Simplicity is less harmful because, usually when simplicity is in use the belief is something 'Simple' to believe. (eg. The dog caught the ball - That is simple to believe)
(6) The most important thing to pass on would be the Red flags. Not a lot of people know about red flags, but we have learned that they are very important in everyday life. They help people debunk conspiracies and figure out why things happened.

Description:
This video shows 5 examples where vampires were "caught on camera". The video talks about the feelings surrounded by vampires and the possible origins. The video mainly focuses on 5 times people believe they have seen vampires in real life.

Connection:
The reason I chose this video is because it shows the perspective of some people that believe in vampires. The video explains why each example is real, and not made up. it is interesting to see the explanations the believers use to defend their perspective. Some red flags I noticed in this video is Emotional Connection. Because these incidents were mostly recorded from a cell phone, it is possible that the people recording wanted to believe they caught a vampire because it happened so close to them, so they want to have the emotional connection to being so close to a vampire.

Description:
This is the opening theme for a show called Castlevania.

Connection:
This show represents what humanity fears the most out of the vampire race. It represents what the world might be like if vampires do exist. Right now we as humans feel like we are at the top of the food chain hunting and raising animals for the slaughter and consumption. This show / video game gives us an inside look if we as human were raised for slaughter and just viewed as meat. Essentially imagine the way you look at a cow is the way a vampire would look at us.

Description:
This photo is a still from the movie Twilight. In this movie, Edward is one of the main characters, and he is a vampire.

Connection:
The Reason I chose this picture is to explain the way vampires have been portrayed in recent film and literature. In the first renditions of vampire movies and books, vampires were seen as destructive and scary creatures. No one wanted to be friends with vampires, let alone have a vampire boyfriend. I believe one of the red flags in this movie is Emotional Connection. Vampires have been portrayed as these beautiful and sometimes "sexy" creatures.

Very few survived this endeavor and the prince made a name for himself overseas as Vlad the Impaler. When he came back to Transylvanian, it was at peace for a time under his rule as king until the new Turkish empire came and demanded 1000 boys for their Army like they did in the past. Vlad said no and sought out a power to stop them. Legend has it that he was bitten by a creature of the night turning him into the first vampire known as Dracula.

Description:
This website explores the history of vampires, and explains how vampires have been around long before Dracula and popular vampires.

Connection:
The website I chose is a Live Science website that explores the history of vampires. I chose this website because they are a science based website, and focus mostly on facts. This website talks about a Romanian legend about how to find a vampire. Apparently you will need a white horse and a 7 year old boy dressed in white, weird right? Before modern film and books, you didn't have to be bitten by a vampire to become one. In Romania, being born with an extra nipple made you a vampire, and in Russia being born with a red caul, or amniotic membrane covering your head, you are destined to return from the dead. Although I could not identify a red flag for this particular website, some of the sources they use bring Ancient wisdom, and the Unexplained red flags.
