What the phrase ¨ No Taxation without representation¨ means that the colonists did not want to pay anything for them they wanted someone parliament to speak for them. I think this because in the text it says that the cheap Spanish and french sugar that the colonists had been buying was now so expensive that they had to buy British sugar. This made money that Britain could use to pay off its war debts, and it disrupted to colonial economy. Those are the reasons why I think that ¨NO Taxation without representation¨ means that the colonists did not want to pay anything for them and they wanted someone parliament to speak for them.

I Think the phrase "taxation without representation" means that they shouldn't have to pay for these things. I think this because they had to pay for, soldiers, food, housing, and pay taxes so they wanted to ask a parliament and the did so. And the sugar act is when they raised the prices of sugar and called it "British Sugar".

After reading the paragraph in The Seeds of Revolution, I think that the phrase "No Taxation without Representation." means that the colonists did not want to pay for the taxes without somebody in the Parliament to speak for them, since other English subjects were represented. The Sugar Act was an expansion of the Sugar and Molasses Act of 1733. The Sugar Act taxed Spanish and French molasses and sugar purchased by the colonists. The Act also taxed coffee and certain textiles. As a result, the cheap Spanish and French sugar became so expensive that the colonists were forced to purchase British sugar. As another result, This made money for Britain to pay off the war debts, but it also disrupted the colonial economy.

The phase taxation without representation means the colonists were against paying all of the taxes that the British wanted them to pay. The taxes were unfair and the colonists wanted a voice in the government like the other English subjects.
The sugar act was a law that forced the colonists to pay a lot of tax for sugar coffee and textiles.
