Dress rehearsal for the Nativity, so Reception children need their outfit extras from this date onwards.

Christmas Dinner Day

Reception to Skipton to shop for Christmas Presents for children who will be in Airedale Hospital during Christmas. When I drop these gifts off, I'd love to give plenty of Christmas Cards to the other wards, as the coordinator of the gifts mentioned that many patients don't get visitors over the Christmas Season, so a Christmas Card (hand made or shop bought) can really lift their spirits. There will be a box next to the Christmas Post Box that will be there all December, but taken away today, as I will deliver the cards and gifts this evening.

Nursery 1, 2 and 3 are invited to come to school in their Christmas pyjamas for a day of Christmas fun, including viewing the CBeebies Panto on Big Screen.

Christmas PA Disco after school. All welcome, but Early Years parents to accompany. Details will be given via the PA.

(Somehow we will get them back from the Church and changed in time for the disco... but no doubt we will lose a few belongings along the way!).

From 1.30pm, we will be holding our Christmas Party for EYFS (hopefully getting a visit from someone special!).  If this isn’t your usual slot, please let us know if you would like your child to join us from 2pm, or whether you would prefer to book the whole day as an adhoc.

Please add you name to this Padlet document which will allow you to ‘sign up’ to provide a certain item to bring to the party. Yes, some of the items don’t follow our nutrition policy, but as it’s a celebration event, we are still following government guidelines. Anyone not wanting their child to have the ‘contraband’, then just email me and we’ll make sure their plate is loaded accordingly.

Bonus points for anyone who adds a festive twist to your items!  We ask that items brought in do not contain nuts, but other allergies can be managed by the staff if we have list of ingredients.

No after school care that evening.

I would also like to note that phones are not usually permitted in school. I do recognise that some of these events will lead to you wanting to take photographs of your children, so will allow that, as long as other children are not in view. If you are taking photos or videos of group things, please do not share these on social media because not all children and families agree to that. Thank you.

We will gather in the Sports Hall from 1.30 for a 1.45pm start to sing a few songs for you, before going with you into the Dining Hall where we can craft together. Perhaps bring a bag to put items in.

If it isn’t your usual session, of course you and your children are still invited for their stay and play time slot, but we would appreciate you letting us know so that we can make sure we have provided enough craft sets, etc., per child. The same applies if you are bringing any siblings.

This event will then mix into the Christmas Tree lighting, with us letting you go and get seats in good time.

At 3pm there is the Christmas Tree Lighting, where the whole school comes together to sing Christmas Carols and showcase their Christmas decorations before placing them on the tree.  I can highly recommend this as an event to get you in the mood for all things festive, especially as your children will be singing some showstoppers for you to join in with!

After The Nativity, there are refreshments in the Dining Hall, along with a few craft stalls.
