Post #8 - Explain in detail how this surrogate/proxy war is a part of the larger Cold War and connects to the present day?

The Vietnam War is very similar because in both conflicts there are communist countries against non-communist countries. In the Cold War the US was on the non-communist and the Soviet Union is one the communist side. And in the Vietnam War the US was also on the non-communist side and the Soviet Union was also on the communist side. The US helped South Vietnam because they were non-communist and the Soviet Union helped North Vietnam because they were communist. The Cold War is all about the communist against the non-communist. That is why the Vietnam War is a part of the Cold War. This relates to the war going on right now in Ukraine. We are helping Ukraine by giving them weapons and China is helping Russia. Like the US helped South Vietnam and the Soviet Union helped North Vietnam.
