I must stand up for the veterans but also help with this issue for leaders. 

BY FAR the most inspirational and professional people I have enjoyed as mentors and colleagues were those who were veterans of decades who always embrace new learning and ideas and are truly the leaders of professional learning. (Just look at Lucila).

Veterans are also commonly those who impede progress. For those who are impeders, I want leaders to be willing to ask the difficult question:
