I feel like life would definitely be more difficult without a cell phone but at the same time I might be better at being focused and present without it

Mediated communication was and is huge for me. It’s a great tool for day to day use but it’s huge for when me and my dad go hunting. When we split up there needs to be a way to figure where each other are at, so we just shoot over a text and wait for connection somewhere.

I couldn’t really imagine life without a phone, it’s so weird to think people st some point didn’t have one. I’ve had it basically my entire life and have adapted myself to just have it on my constantly and the world around me has embraced the use of phones that it would be odd to revert back to a time when we didn’t rely on them or had them as a tool. I also rely on it to communicate with my friends and while I do see them in person, a large portion of time is spent over the phone.

Even though I enjoy being able to talk to friends/my girlfriend, sometimes I wish cell phones didn’t exist at all. In person communication is important to me but not much online. Life without cellphones would be nice, yes, they do improve certain aspects but it would be nice to go without them.

It is very important in my life because it’s been there my whole life. I definitely think if i never had a phone growing up then i would be able to live without it but since i did, it would be extremely difficult. I am very appreciative of it because it’s given me friends and connected me to old family members.

I think mediated communication is fairly important in current day because it allows people who may be farther away to communicate or interact. Personally, I don’t think I can imagine a life without a cell phone because of that very reason of being able to interact with people who are farther away. I do think I could do away with use of social media though. It’s more of a distraction.

I can imagine living without my cellphone. I think it would be a better life in a lot of ways. A simpler life. It would be more difficult in some aspects such as navigation or communicating with a friend who lives across the country.

Social media and mediated communication are very important now, whether we like it or not. So much of our daily lives requires us to have a phone, between work, school, and personal lives. We could go back to not using them, but the standards set right now would have to change, and it would take a while to get used to the massive change.

Phones are unnecessary and a hindrance to communication. And essentially are tools to make us reliant on advertisers and corporations. We can learn things through books, and social communication, without degrading social structures. We always have computers for other communication we can't access normally and to look things up that need concise answers for.

These days it’s abnormal to think of people not being able to have access to mediated communications. However, I know that I could go without using it for quite sometime. I do find social media and other various channels valuable. Providing the ability to connect with family and friends.

Overall, mediated communication through a significant amount of differing channels has populated our age and time and that’s seen through the increase and popularity of hand held devices such as cell phones, tablets, and popular systems of Linux and windows software, Personally I’m consistently reminded of the impact these devices have in a technology field, such as being able to transmit our location, share images of our daily lives, and as someone who uses these mass personal channels who watch other people in things such as YouTube, tutorials, etc. Not having access to such devices could significantly impact the world we live in the realm of data transport, such as in emergency I couldn’t contact my family, etc
