Students should be able to understand what they read whether they are reading out loud or in silence. They should be able to read with a conversational tone, reads the text with accuracy and speed, and use expression that invites the listener to the story.</title>

<title>The challenges with ASD student are that they are slow readers, so most times they will not read with speed. They will stop frequently because of unknown words. They also lack expression and accuracy. This happens because of inaccurate decoding of unfamiliar words. They also lack memory of words that have been read and practiced previously.</title>
