I found this conversation quite helpful. The idea of thinking about the Eisenhower Matrix and where I spend my time is intreguing to me. As a teacher I spent a great amount of time in the "Urgent column" and I find that in this position I have a lot less in the "Urgent column". This is a VERY weird feeling, so weird in fact, sometimes I catch myself looking for "urgent" tasks. I am now thinking, that in this unique position I can reflect myself about what is most important, and also really listen to teachers, beyond all of the "urgency" messages from them, for what is most important to them. (I hope this makes sense.)

I liked hearing about how we are all working in relation to the leadership categories. I also was reminded about the need for the common district vision and that each site needs to be working in the same direction and not always wearing the same color shirt! Kyle

Possibly some timeframes for discussions. I wanted to continue to talk and had to move on to my next meeting. Thanks for the padlet! Kyle

Being reflective about what I spend my time doing is useful. I am good at managing because I can shift to the next thing easily. Like Kyle said, managing is a skill you have to have or nothing gets done. There is the balance that is challenging. I struggle with feeling confident about leadership skills - primarily there are so many different things to do. I really want to explore what each component of leadership looks like - what it looks like for me or what it looks like in others.

I appreciate the time to reflect on and discuss our learning and experience with the learning path content. This session helped me become more aware of the ways in which I use my time and the extent to which that allocation of time and effort is aligned with my vision. I really appreciate the collaborative conversation. I learn a lot from listening to you all. I appreciate the opportunity to evaluate my strengths and weaknesses as a leader and want to know more about (1) improving in my weak areas and (2) leveraging the strengths of a team of leaders. I find it difficult to envision any one individual being able to be strong in all areas of leadership y themself.

Linda, I also appreciate your thoughtful facilitation to ensure all voices are heard. Thank you.

I came away with a renewed sense of commitment to completing the articulation of our core values and look forward to involving staff in articulating examples and non-examples to help us define them.

I agree it is all well and good to have Core Values and Beliefs, but the key word is how to operationalize it...Examples of what it looks like and what it doesn't look like. Great reminder!!

My wonder is many teachers (and leaders) still feel like they are in survival mode and although these discussions are critical and perhaps would make life easier at this point, how do we find time to discuss this without it feeling like "just one more thing"?

I think this is one of the most important things that we do. I know sometimes I am challenged to let go of a belief because someone is trying really hard to convince me. Modeling what we believe has to first and foremost on the list of things we do.
