The Mursi tribe are one of the last groups in African for their woman to wear pottery or wooden disks in their mouth. This is call dhebi a tugoin. This photo demonstrates a large disk in a womans lower lip.

What is life like in Mursi? The Mursi tribe is made up of about 10,000 members and our known for being very dangerous, which makes it very expensive to go visit. The Muris people are mostly herder. There most valued possession is their cattle. They experience major problems during the dry season and become short of water. But are mosly known for their social statues.

It made me happy to know that these woman are not forced to do anything the do not want to do when it comes to this bizarre ritual.  However it also makes me upset that this tribe has had to take drastic measure to keep tourist from disrespecting the woman. A quote from a Mursi woman even said "they are coming to take pictures of us, as if we were monkeys in a Zoo."
