·       Excursion purpose and eligibility: The trip is designed for Year 10 students moving into Year 11 in 2027 who are interested in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, or those working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Silver or Gold Awards. It emphasizes teamwork, leadership, and scientific research in a unique natural environment.

·       Activities and experiences: Participants will kayak daily along the pristine Ningaloo coastline, snorkel at various reef sites with rich marine biodiversity, and have the opportunity to swim with whale sharks. Guided bush walks to Mandu Mandu Gorge and Yardie Creek Gorge are included to observe wildlife and scenic views.

·       Inclusions and logistics: The excursion runs from April 13 to April 21, 2027, costing approximately $6,800, including return airfares, accommodation, meals, equipment such as kayaks and snorkeling gear, camping supplies, qualifiedguides, and insurance. The trip meets National Park entry and camping fee requirements.

·       Participation and contact details: Priority for trip placement is given first to Year 11 science students involved in Duke of Edinburgh, followed by other science students and then non-science students participating in Duke of Edinburgh. Expressions of interest must be submitted online, and further information can be obtained from the Science curriculum coordinator or the tour facilitator.
