         <description><![CDATA[<p>Water does affect the number of seeds germinated. As shown in the experiment we did in class, on average, 10mL of water caused 8 seeds to germinate, 5mL of water caused 1.3 seeds to germinate, and no overlap was shown between the 5mL and 10mL of water on the Error Bars we created. This is because as the water goes to the seed, it causes the seed to expand and delivers oxegyn to the seed. As the water activates the enzymes for resperation, which provides energy for growth, the catalyst is stated to speed up the reaction of the seed. So the seeds need enough water for all of them, but not too much as to which they drown, but enough as to which the seed has enough to grow and adapt. Therefore, water does affect the number of seeds germinated.</p>]]></description>

In the experiment that was done, the isopods were attracted to the water as well as the area with no water, with the class averages being 4.95 isopods for the wet area, 5.05 isopods for the dry area, and there was a lot of overlap shown on the Error Bars we created. Therefore, H20 does not affect the number of isopods in the choice chamber.</p>]]></description>

In the experiment that we completed, the isopods had an average of 4.8 isopods in the hot area and 5.2 isopods in the cold area. As shown in the Error Bars graph, there was a lot of overlap.          <description><![CDATA[<p>The lake water affected the Duckweed growth the most because of higher amounts of nutrients in the lake water. In the experiment, we examined how tap water, lake water, salt water, and filtered water all affected the growth of the Duckweed over the course of a week. In the end, the lake water was shown to have the most affect on the amount of Duckweed grown by a drastic amount. This can be explained because the other waters have been filtered to get rid of the extra nutrients, so they become a very bad environment for the Duckweed to grow in, because duckweed needs nurtience to repdoduce Because no nutrients were taken out of the lake water, it became the best environment for the Duckweed to grow in. Therefore, the lake water affected the Duckweed growth the most because of higher amounts of nutrients in the lake water.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The proximity to water increase the biodiveristy because many insects rely on water. In the experiment, we tested different locations, including the bridge, the marsh, and the hill, and waited 24 hours to see what we collected. In the experiment we found that there were 6 different species found at the hill, and 11 different species at the marsh and bridge. We found an abundance of 34 bugs at the hill and bridge, and 23 bugs at the marsh. We ended up finding the SDI to be 0.45 for the hill, 0.88 for the marsh, and 0.76 for the bridge. This supports my claim because many bugs hatch in water, and rely on it for survival as well as food. So because of this, this causes the SDI to be much higher closer to the water than farther from the water. Therefore, the proximity to water increase the biodiveristy because many insects rely on water.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Yes, light does affect the CO2 levels in a container with spinach leaves because of the cycle of photosynthesis and resperation. In the experiment, we looked at the changes of carbon in a container that was in the light vs. the dark. We found that there was an average change of -374.16 for leaves in light, 723.16 for leaves in dark, -9 for control light, and -99.3 for control dark. Based on this evidence one can conclude that yes, light does affect the CO2 levels in a container with spinach leaves because of the cycle of photosynthesis and resperation because light allows photosynthesis to happen. So because of this, this allows less carbon to not be used, because photosynthesis uses carbon to feed plants. So due to this, resperation, though it emits carbon, more carbon is used in photosynthesis rather than repseration, causing less carbon to stay in the air. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Yes, germination does affect the amount of CO2 produced because of cellular respiration. In the experiment, we tested mung beans that were germinating, dormant, and glass beads. We used the glass beads as the null, and we saw changes in the graphs, with a negative slope for dormant mung beans, no slope for the glass beads, and a positive slope for the germinating seeds. This supports the claim because as seeds breath, they give off CO2. Due to the mung beans germinating, this means that the beans were breathing, also known as doing cellular respiration. So because of this, the CO2 levels increased, and caused a positive slope for the mung beans that were germinating. Because glass beads aren't alive, this causes them not able to do cellular respiration, causing no change, and for the dormant mung beans, they aren't breathing a ton, maybe not at all, causing CO2 levels to be low, creating a negative slope. In conclusion, yes, germination does affect the amount of CO2 produced because of cellular respiration.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Yes, the concentration of sucrose does affect the % mass change due to osmosis. In the experiment, we tested the concentration of potatoes in different levels of sucrose concentration, including 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8, with 25 ml of each. We found there to be a percent change in mass of 17.4% for 0, 6.2% for 0.2, -16.7% for 0.4, -28.3 for 0.6, and -38.2 for 0.8. Based on this evidence you can see that the concentration of sucrose does affect the % mass change due to osmosis because osmosis is the movement of water towards an area of higher concentration. When the concentration was above 0.2, the potatoes lost mass. During osmosis, water molecules will move towards more hypertonic items, such as salt and sugar, and the water molecules in surrounding objects will leave and cause the object's cells to shrivel. The opposite goes for hypotonic items, which will receive too many water molecules, and the item's cells will grow in size. This is why the concentration of sucrose does affect the % mass change due to osmosis.</p>]]></description>
