Perhaps only using ASD as your sample population would make your data a bit biased (e.g. socioeconomically individuals may not represent the majority, etc.) - would you consider narrowing down your research question to "school community" to control for these potential confounding variables?

How does the ASD community specifically come into play when examining how AI will play a role in the medical field? How does comparing qualitative data with people who have medical training compare to quantitative data with people who don't have a medical background? Are there any previous methods you considered that you decided against? Why did you decide against them?
