This was pretty crazy to me like thats disgusting.

This quote stood out to me because I was a bit confused about what it means. I asked, and that quote would be a myth/story that the author was told in his culture. I think its fictional

I believe the person narrating the prologue is Tommy orange himself, setting up the initial ideas and concepts that will be explored in the rest of the book, as well as talking about the general history of Indians to better set up the context for the story going forward and the characters within it. All that has been Stated in the prologue is setting up similar issues Characters May face in the book such as violence, discrimination, and a general misunderstanding of history and what really happened

There were so many historical references in the prologue it's hard to focus on any specific one, but there are a few general themes the quotes play into. For instance, how white people see and depict Native Americans, how they treated tribes for doing nothing and even their compliance to outrageous demands, and how they treat them now that they've "integrated" with white culture.
