4 types of reliability :

Reliability has four types and each of them has their own uses and differences such as test-retest reliability , parallel forms reliability, inter-rater reliability and internal consistency reliability . For the first one , that is test-retest reliability that referring to a measure of reliability that obtained by administering the same test over a period of time to a group of individuals . The score from time (1) and time (2) can be then correlated in order to evaluated the test for stability over time . For the second one , that is parallel forms reliability that considered as a measure of reliability that obtained by administering different versions of an assessment tool that must contain items that probe the same construct , skills , knowledge base and much more . Besides that , the scores from the two versions ca be then correlated in order to evaluate the consistency of results across alternate versions . For the third one , that is inter-rater reliability that usually referred as a measure of reliability that used to assess the degree to which different judges or raters agree in their assessment decisions . Other than that , inter-rater reliability is useful because human observes that will not necessarily interpret answers the same way and also sometimes raters may disagree as to how well certain responses or material demonstrate knowledge of the construct or skill being assessed . Last but not least , the internal consistency reliability that also has two types in it that is average inter-items correlation and split-half reliability . Internal consistency reliability is a measure of reliability used to evaluate the degree to which different test items that probe the same construct produce similar results . For the average inter-items correlation , that usually referred as a subtype of internal consistency reliability that obtained by taking all of the items on a test that probe the same construct such as reading comprehension . Lastly , the split-half reliability . The process of obtaining split-half reliability is begun by splitting in half to all items of the test that intended to probe the same area of knowledge in order to form two sets of items such as World War II .

As everyone know that both of this measurement and evaluation is a part of important things in teaching and learning processes . Every teachers and educators need to be deal with measurement and evaluation , so that they can easily value and know their students ability and disability in learning process . Although both of this measurement and evaluation is a part of important things in student's learning process, but still they has their own meaning , details and differences between each other. Firstly , for measurement . What is measurement ?. Measurement is a basically referred to a numerical description of a particular characteristics including physical objects such as height, weight and depth . Other than that , measurement also referring to a test that tend to measure behavioural and cognitive which are a lot more abstract , make sense and not really accurate such as KBAT question answer in every examination paper . And the second one , that is evaluation . Evaluation is a synonymous or similar as assessment and homework . Usually, evaluation is when the results of a test are used for decision making . Teachers and educators will evaluate and value their students in such a way either good or bad . Evaluation also often be make based on the rubric or any answer scheme given . It really shows that most every evaluation be made accordingly and exactly based on the answer of the question supposed to be .
