Students face this anxiety all through their academic life. As teachers and parents we can work towards implementing strategies that help them overcome this rather than how to avoid this.

I agree that students need strategies to help them solve equations but do not agree with the shift of "I can use my 5s to help me solve my 6s in multiplication" because often times students continue to use this because it works and never truly learn the 6s facts.
