To this day, said encounter constantly reminds me that there's a lot of work needed to be done in battling the interconnected societal issues so citizens will no longer have to scavenge and eat scrap food. There's always more to what meets the eye and I commit myself to maximizing this privilege to study, unceasingly immersing, being as useful and productive as I can be, and give back once I reach a point where I am in a better position to take up larger roles.

I've been part of this church choir for two years now, and I've learned that my commitment to singing in the mass as a form of service is the more loving option rather than by simply attending the mass.

And just like what the stranger did, I really hope that I will be able to do the same thing and exhibit this kind of generosity to others, especially once I start to have the excess resources to give to those who may need it more. And I truly believe this is the more loving option to do rather than just using my earned money/resources for myself because kindness and generosity are the best ways of showing your love and care for others.

In my work working for the food industry specifically the back-end in ingredient sourcing, I strive for the fair treatment of our agricultural workers and wish to serve that greater good. I am already have done projects that connect myself and my wider Atenean community to Filipino farmers and their plight, and look forward to finishing an arrangement to intern for a farm-to-table business this coming summer and dedicate my thesis to eliminating unnecessary produce waste and supporting unsold produce made by our hardworking small-scale agricultural-based farmer communities particularly in Northern Luzon.

It has always been a personal advocacy of mine to ensure that every Filipino child is able to grow up in a proper and loving home. Even now, in college, I have joined organizations such as HFH-BC because I feel like I am making small ripples of change by participating in their advocacy.
