I absolutely love when I get to venture out and see new classes. Today I walked into a Kinder class that I have had my eye on, I always see the cutest pictures on social media from this teacher. When I entered the room, they were doing stations and she had a stack of student progress folders on the table. I listened in as she called students up and encouraged them by showing what progress they have made, and seeing where they get to go next. I overheard her sit patiently with one student as an answer was on the tip of his tongue and she gave him the wait time he needed to read a word. She also praised him saying she can tell he is practicing at home and that his hard work is showing. I also had the opportunity to see a students who had gotten off task on their iPad, and another student, showed them how to get to where they should be. I felt like the classroom had a positive feel, and the students were encouraged to try to resolve issues independently or in a small group before running to the teacher.

Before they students could answer the questions the teacher reminded them of the stop and think signal. They were also able to explain and tell why we need to eat healthy foods instead of junk food and were very excited about completing their health food project.
