I agree with this statement and disagree because your can’t always listen to your parents because what if they tell that you have to become a doctor and you want to be a engineer and your parents are forcing you to do something that you don’t want to. I agree with this statement because your parents always tell you to do the right thing to wrong. Your parents will always help you like for advices like don’t drink or drive don’t vape don’t smoke. Your parents will always be there and help throughout life sometimes or always.

I disagree with the statement “Winning the lottery is always a good thing”. That is because the lottery can always bring bad things upon you. For example, as shown in “The Lottery” by Shirly Jackson, the woman who won the lottery was selected to be stoned to death as those were the rules.

I agree with this statement to an extent because following family traditions makes each family unique and adds on to diversity in the world. Each family has their own background and way of life so continuing to do these and passing them down gives people a sense of culture and help them be connected and know their roots. On the other hand in the short story “The Lottery” their towns tradition is to Stone a person to death each year, in this case following traditions that are savage and wrong should not happen or be passed down under any circumstances.
