         <description><![CDATA[<div>Alexander Pechersky was born in Kremenchug, Ukraine, but at a young age he moved to a small town in Russia called Rostov. He excelled in school and when he finished his secondary school he joined a music school. He loved the arts and especially music and theatre. Until the start of the war where he was "forced" to join the Russian army  as a second lieutenant and the later promoted to first lieutenant, and then was captured by the German army.<br> </div>]]></description>

If you did mess up it could resort in death. The prisoners were given less than a quarter pound of bread a day most were malnourished.</div>]]></description>
