The first in the US was a Chianina/Angus/Holstein bull calf on January 31st, 1972 in King City, California. Because of animal importing banned on Italy, the US could not obtain full Italian Chianina until 1973 when they were imported from Canada. Now we maintain the ability to breed and own one of the oldest breeds of cattle in the world.

Now, the main production is beef, but they are still used in farm work and pulling competitions. Their small udder  veers from milk production, but the first four months after calving they average 3 gallons of milk a day. Their defined muscles and great health produces amazing cuts of beef. They have  a trim build without excess dewlap and brisket with red marbled meat and not a lot of excess fat holding 65% carcass yield. They are usually sent to the rail at 16-18 months old.
