Before joining Seattle Public Schools as the executive director of Athletics, Eric McCurdy directed men’s basketball at the University of Houston. In this role, he worked directly with college athletes by providing academic counseling and mentoring. Further, he was instrumental in donor cultivation and developing effective marketing plans. Prior to this, he managed organized youth sports for the city of Houston. In addition to a bachelor of science in psychology and physical education, he earned a master's in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University. He also holds a credential from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association in athletic administration.
