There are so many different reasons that parents choose to homeschool their children, but there are also many reasons parents choice to send their children off to public schools. From observations in the past, I think public schools teach children much more than just the material in the books, but how to socially/ emotionally act and how to mentally prepare for their lives.

Attending public school comes with its own challenges, but home school is not always the better option. In watching this video one will be able to listen to what is said about homeschooling vs. Public School. For example, homeschooling allows the student to have a flexible schedule and public school. Public school gives the students more social interaction verse home school where they don't really see other students.

There are both pros and cons to either home schooling or public schooling. Home school is able to give the students more one on one time. While pubic school has larger ratio of students to teacher. But public schools are able to give children the experience of interaction and learning with other children their age.

This has always been a hot topic debate over the years to which is better. They both have their pros and cons and I really think it depends on the individual themselves to what is going to benefit them best. Being homeschooled still gives the student the opportunity to interact and learn social skills with other home schooled students. Many families will get together and teach lessons so those kids can get social interaction. Public school lets students get a perspective of what continuing their education beyond high school will look like and developing great bonds with other students. There are many options now days that families can decide what works best for their child.

I went to public school and loved the various educational opportunities I got. I met lots of people and made life long friends. I understand that homeschooling gives the parents a chance to oversee their child's education and maybe even incorporate more hands on activities but overall I think it is a case by case basis and the family should do what they believe will lead their child to the most educational success.

Two of my friends are avid about homeschooling. I can see advantages and disadvantages to both types of education. An advantage of homeschooling is that it can be more personalized. There are less distractions and it's easier to focus on and spend more time on concepts that are not making sense. There is more flexibility with schedule. There is also great networking opportunities among parents in this community. If there is a subject where as a parent you feel inadequate, there are groups that meet weekly and help and support each other. I think that it all boils down to personal preference and finding what is best for your child. I think both options can be effective. I am more bias to public school because that is how I was educated and it is also where I want to be an educator, but it is good to have options.
https://homeeducator.com/homeschool-vs-public-school/

I think public school is a great way for students to learn and grow with other students. I think these experiences will help children in their future life goals. I also think that being in a structured classroom can also be a problem for some students. Some children may learn best on their own and have social lives in other areas. I think it definitely depends on your lifestyle and learning styles as well. https://www.publicschoolreview.com/blog/what-are-the-benefits-of-public-school-over-homeschooling

I've only known public school growing up. I loved public school honestly it gave me so many opportunities to do different things and have interaction with so many different people. I feel that in a way homeschooling is less discipline than a public school. Homeschooling is more free range and personalized I believe. Homeschool does have great flexibility rather than a public school where it is more structured.
https://homeeducator.com/homeschool-vs-public-school/

I personally went to public school and loved it. My cousins are currently being homeschooled and they are struggling. Their parents don't have a lot of motivation to help them and they don't have a competitive environment. They also are lacking necessary social skills. Personally, I think more students thrive better in public schools and they get necessary life skills as a bonus.

Sam Draxler

I have just noticed that the kids who have switched from homeschooling to a public school are behind on a lot of subjects and don't have key social skills.

I personally love public school. I went there and my children will go to public school too. I never thought about homeschooling my children because I didn't want to fail them. However, it is strange to think of it that way considering I'm going to school to be a teacher and can't wait to do it. I think that homeschooling is great for some people, but I'd much rather have the structure of a public school not only for my kids but as a teacher as well.

There are many opinions on this topic and I don't believe there to be a right or wrong answer, rather a perception. Studies show academically students succeed higher at home than in public schools. Personally, I see home school as lacking in a single area that public school provides - social skills. I don't believe you cannot achieve social skills at home, but I do believe public schools to provide social schools alongside the academics without extra effort, where at home you would need to self start and locate social opportunities. There are many pros and cons to both and I believe it to be personal preference and perception as to which is best for your student.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9OlhikDBDo
