         <description><![CDATA[<p>Incorporating diverse reading materials and thematic units that explore a common theme through the lens of different cultures touching on subjects like migration and conflicts, encouraging students to share about their culture are ways to incorporate multicultural perspectives.</p><p><br/></p><p>Strategies for Curriculum Integration:</p><ol><li><p>Get to know your students: Take the time to learn behaviors, backgrounds, and challenges of students to better design an effective and inclusive curriculum.</p></li><li><p>Creating an inclusive environment: Including texts from diverse authors, displaying posters and art form different cultures, and promoting open dialogue ensures students feel valued.</p></li><li><p>Integrating Multicultural Content: The materials and readings used in the classroom should reflect the diversity of the students in class.</p></li><li><p>Respect and Reinforce Student Culture: In respecting each student’s culture, we contribute to their self-concept, which in turn influences their academic success it is important to validate a student’s culture by connecting their outside experiences, daily life, and background knowledge to what is happening in the classroom.</p></li></ol>]]></description>
