Are Human Teachers In Countdown To Extinction?

As student of languages, we got a bunch of ways to study nowadays. Personaly, I’m still getting used to study by my own. I feel like I hadn’t found my path yet, and it might be due to this flood of offers. Besides the more traditional methods, such as Collegue, academies of English or one to one lesson, we are offered an amazing wide catalogue thanks to new technologies. You can improve your competences watching foreign TV, listening podcasts, using the boundless resources on internet and now, as guest star, the Artificial Intelligence has shown up to “kill the game”.

I’ve been using for the last year an app that makes you feel like you were learning face to face with a personal teacher. Within the app you can write, read and listen, but the differential factor is that you can practice real-world conversations, and, on top of that, it gives you exhaustive feedback about your pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. Amazing, isn’t it? I strongly recommend it. Would have you say that it could be possible at present if you had been asked in the 90’s? Absolutely not.

My take is that I prefer face to face relations but, I must admit, AI is incredibly helpful in those fields where is very difficult work them out by your own. Could AI replace human teachers in the near future? I'd go yes, it could be. What about you? What’s your opinion? I’ll read your comments in the section below.

Jesús.

Are new technologies an advantage or a challenge?

Hi readers! We must take some points into account. Let me show you some of them:

First of all, AGE, it is not the same to be from the alpha generation or a boomer. Obviously a teenager is more open minded than an adult. We can talk about the explosive frontal neurogenesis that teenagers suffer in the next post.

Secondly, TIME, with technologies we have more time to use it for other things, because we waste less time collecting information.

Furthermore, AMOUNT, before we had limited access to information, and now we can choose from a multitudes of options such as AI, apps, internet... You can filter all that information so than it suits your need.

On other hand, WRITING, people are losing the ability to write correctly. Accent marks are lost, words are shortened or new words are invented.

Overall, if you want my opinion, new technologies are so good for being informed and adding to your knowledge but we must not forget old learning such as opening a new book or taking notes.

If you enjoyed this post, let us know your comments.

Have a nice day guys!!!

Cristina

Hi guys, I took my English exam last week, as you know I'm studying English, I'm in B2.2 and it's insane! And that’s remind me how studying a language was 30 years ago. I remember I had my notes, my book and a dictionary. That was all.

The rise of the technology has transformed the way we learn, making education more accessible than ever. Specially with the arrive of internet. And remote learning has become more common among schools and students.

But how are you dealing with technology and adapting to this new reality?

Well in my case I use a laptop and my phone every day. So it’s not a problem for me to find resources for learning English.

Today people join online classes, they can learn everywhere. Additionally digital platforms provide access to a huge number of resources including videos, audios, text with only one click. The best part is free.

Although if you want to do remote learning you need to consistently and have discipline. I always go to the library because it’s quieter, I can concentrate, and it has internet.

Some of my favourite resources include Facebook pages such as English Literature. I love their poetry post or in Tik Tok the account Ingles Nativo, their reals explain grammar very well.

I also watch streaming content in English, I believe this is one of the best ways to catch and improve your listening skills.

And my last addition: AI, oh men! Copilot it has been a total discovery for me. Now I can talk and practice my speaking with other “person” because Copilot talk to me like a real person and teaching English at the same time.

In conclusion today we don’t have excuse to learn a language. It’s not easy but not impossible.

Only you need to try and avoid distractors. Keep focus and be organized with you and your shores. Use your phone, computer or go to a library, the resources are available.

Now tell me, fellas, what are your tips for learning English. Tell me your ideas! I’ll read them and don’t forget to subscribe.

Joana

Remote learning offers flexibility, but it's easy to lose focus without the structure of a traditional classroom, isn't it?

The absence of social interactions on remote learning, make it difficult to stay engaged. Many students feel disconnected, and that reduces their study motivation.

Tools like Zoom and Google Classroom are incredibly useful to learn on-line, but they can not replace the classroom experience. As a result, people ofen take over in isolation reducing their academic performance.

Personally, I don’t advise remote learning because I strongly believe that the structure and social interaction of in-person classes are essential for staying motivated.

What can we do to make online learning more engaging and turn it into an experience that truly motivates and connects students?

Asmae Chakkaf Daghmoumi.

Have you ever heard that expression "so close and yet so far"? Well, that is my personal experience with remote learning and for sure, the same as most of you.

Nowadays, we have all the facilities and tools that all of our parents and grandparents would have loved using, like series, film, music, interviews, within reach of a click, and even IAs for searching information and investigate deeply.

We can study careers or even become a professional musician, practically from your room. But, this requieres an execellent discipline and organization that not everyone have.

In my case, leaving my mobile phone on a another room have helped me a lot, because you can't fall into the temptation. And in addition, I hardly recomend to set daily study rutines, obviously, with breaks. And to finish take paper notes for retaining better the information.

I know that it isn' so many tips but sincerely, there isn't a perfect instruction manual because each one have their own system and plannings for studying. But I'm pretty sure that If you just add these two things to yours, is going to improve in your studies.

Alejandro

However, being in front of the screen for a long time can be very problematic for your eyes, you can generate backache and it maybe hard to stay focus on what you are doing.

The sedentarism and the falt of intaraction with other people can affect on your motivation to learn.
