If you are like many Americans, you have just spent a few days in close quarters with your parents, grandchildren, siblings, etc. You are ready to go home or ready for them to go home. But for a growing number of families in which adult children cannot afford to live on their own, this is the new normal. These “boomerang” children have been the butt of jokes on late-night television and even in commercials, but what is so bad about moving back in with your parents?

Think carefully about the following question: Could extended families under one roof—a common arrangement in years past—be the way of the future? Write (the introductory paragraph of) an essay explaining the benefits of extended families living under one roof becoming a common arrangement in America.

Living with your family after graduating in college is the most beneficial way of living in our new society today. Moving back home after college is helpful because it gives you some time to get back on your feet and try to find a job or figure out what you want to do at that point of your life. Your family can help you financially because you're coming out of college in debt of student loans. You also don't have to be pressured of getting a job right after college to support yourself.

Moving back in with your parents after college isn't all that if you think about it positively. Society these days think that if you move back in with you parents that its weird and that you must/could/would not ever be successful in life. But really moving back in is in a way like having a roommate, in which you pay certain bills and you share the house but with rules. Its just that your roommate is your parent/parent, there is not really a big difference except that its your parents and not a friend from school.

Most people have spent time staying at a relatives house or had a decent amount of family members stay at your house. Now imagine that everyday. Having to wait your turn for a shower isn't fun, but living with extended family does have its benefits. Living with extended family can provide a better sense of security and support at home.
