Twitter and Facebook are used by many Marist schools and Projects. Unfortunately websites are rarely visited now unless a twitter feed links you directly to them. I propose we invite Marists who are active social media users and represent a wide range of countries to join a discussion group. The topic could be 'uniting Marist countries through social media'.

Lovely to connect to Marists internationally. This is a great idea to foster community and encounter.

No doubt Social Media has become the phenomenon of our time and when used positively can be a profound way to connect and even evangelize!

Snapchat and Instagram have emerged as popular platforms for teens. Facebook remains the largest subscriber of social media, but I find that it’s tired and littered with too much “noise” in your feed. For professionals LinkedIn continues to growth in numbers and Twitter has probably established itself as a micro blog platform, primarily for a more adult community. #Hashtags are a great way to build a movement and brand as well.

Marcellin College, Bulleen is the most followed Twitter account of any secondary school in Australia. Our community have embraced the connectedness and real time posts.

I look forwarded to the conversation!

I'm a member of this junior/expanded managment and I'm responsible for all the marketing for our school - the webpage, social media, grafics. I think it's a very good and a necessary idea to connect in this topic. it's very interesting to look at all the different marist-pages on twitter, instagram, facebook and so on. for me that's the way we can reach our pupils and also the parents. I think it would be a necessary way to connect together - perhaps we can manage anythime a symposium?
Matthias

Currently there are many amazing Marists social media accounts in individual schools and individual countries, our task is to think about how we can create something that connects these or even start with connecting with each other. I would love to hear your thoughts...
