I found the idea of promoting 'flow' quite interesting. Making sure that classroom activities are interesting and sufficiently challenging can sometimes be difficult, but I think with differentiation firmly in place this can be achieved on a day to day basis.

Making sure that the timetable lends itself to longer periods for experimental and exploratory tasks is something that I look forward to post COVID. Having the children fully engaged and learning TOGETHER again is going to benefit their learning so much.

All students need regular movement and exercise to stimulate the brain and get the blood flowing. This is harder to implement with online learning in small apartments but is still important.

'Flow' is referred to when teachers make the curriculum both differentiated and contextually relevant for the learners. An optical state of intrinsic motivation is required for the learner to be completely absorbed in the task, it should be accomplishable but also challenging. 'Flow' can be achieved through teacher-learner collaboration.

Students are encouraged to be active thinkers and be successful enquirers, to drive their own learning. Relevant, engaging and exciting classroom activities are important. You can also utilise opportunities to use spaces outside your classroom to facilitate learning, making connections to the real world.

Learning happens when learners are actively engaged. To make that happen, teachers are responsible for making lessons meaningful to them by making sure the lesson is interesting. The idea of having 'flow' in learning ties in with how effective differentiation is needed. This idea of 'flow' reminds me of Vygotsky theory on the zone of proximal development and scaffolding.

(Jessica L) People learn when they're engaged with the learning. I have found that, for example, with the times tables, the students know them a lot more through learning songs and dancing in the classroom. It does mean that they are quite hyperactive for a little while, but I coupled this song and dance with an immediate sit down and work for 3 minutes on their written times tables and it worked perfectly.

It improves students' engagement, makes learning a more fun and pleasurable activity and allows for interdisciplinary learning.

Hello everyone!

I'm a Chinese teacher based in Thailand, and I'm part of the team at Prasan Gateway International School. My students come from all over the world, including China, Thailand, and many other countries, which creates a wonderfully diverse yet complex teaching environment.

At PGIS, we've specifically designed our Chinese curriculum to cater to this diversity. For our Chinese students, the program helps them maintain their language proficiency and stay connected to their mother tongue. Simultaneously, we offer immersive Chinese learning programs for students from other nationalities.

In my classes, I plan to integrate the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) framework for half of the teaching time. My goal is for children to develop a strong interest in Chinese and acquire the language naturally through engaging thematic activities and projects. I'll also strive to align my lessons closely with the school's overall IPC themes.

While I haven't used the IPC framework before, I'm eager to learn more about it comprehensively and apply it effectively in my teaching practice.
