WELCOME!!

My name is Eric Wallbruch (the "bruch" in Wallbruch sounds like "luck") and I work in the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) at UICOM. I will be your Physician House Advisor (PHA) coordinator as well as the Student Organizations coordinator throughout the duration of your tenure here at UICOM.

First and foremost, I want to personally welcome you to UICOM. All of us here hope your experience is educating and enriching for you. Our greatest goal is for you to feel as supported as possible as you begin this journey into the next stage of not just your medical education, but your life.

As a brief introduction, I wanted to share some points of interest about myself and my life:

I am originally from the Chicago suburb of Lombard. I went to college in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, and since graduatio, I have lived and worked in Michigan (various cities), Minnesota (Minneapolis), New York (NYC), Nevada (Las Vegas), and mostly Chicago.

I have worked at UICOM since 2004 as a Standardized Patient (something you will have much experience with through your time here), a Core-Exam practical instructor (always feel free to reach out to me if you ever have questions about or would like to practice your core-exam on me), a clinical-skills instructor, a Curricular Coordinator, and most currently, as mentioned above, I am on the Office of Student Affairs team as the PHA Coordinator and Student Organization Coordinator.

Outside of my work at UICOM, I am also a Certified Massage Therapist, a professional singer (the following post is a recording I was on that I made a few years back of a Castillian Renaissance Christmas Carol...), and in my free time I volunteer assisting newly arrived refugees to become acclimated to their new lives here in Chicago.

I genuinely look forward to getting to know you personally and I want you to know I am here to help you become the best possible physician AND person you can be.

Please do not ever hesitate to reach out to me if or when you ever need assistance and support.

Again, WELCOME!

All my best,

Eric
