I started off with a base of multiple pink shades as it is my favourite colour. I added an outline of my head and added texture with acrylic paint as that is my favourite form of painting i love the texture and depth it adds to art. I covered my eyes with a blue stripe as my eyes are blue and then added my name to that stripe. I added two flower gems as i love flowers and all things nature, this is also reflected in the flower cutout at the top of the picture. I added scrabble pieces “s” and “b” which are the initials of my boyfriend and my dog, the scrabble pieces themselves represent my love for board games. The heart shaped cutouts are from paintings or pictures i already had. The purple heart is a picture of the galaxy as i love star gazing at night. The small beige heart is a picture of my dogs fur, and the blue heart is a picture of the beach because the beach is my favourite place to be. The pink cutout is a picture of rose quartz which represents my love for collecting crystals, and lastly the cow is a picture i took while on a walk and represents my favourite animal which is a cow. The materials i used were paper, paint, gems, pictures, and paintings.

This is a portrait I did in class of the person sat in front of me. We worked as a group to create a piece of art that reflects kindness. I did this by first painting the person opposite me and adding things like glitter, confetti, yarn, tape, and gems to the painting. I then wrote words that represent kindness to me.

I chose this shoe to draw my story on as it was the most similar to the shoes i wear on a daily basis. I started off by drawing my tattoos on the shoe with a pencil. My tattoos hold a lot of meaning to me so i decided to fill the shoe with them and felt that they represented me as a person well. I added pink laces as thats my favourite colour and under the pink i really lightly wrote the names of all my favourite people. I added the date of my anniversary with my boyfriend and the date we got our dog to the sole of the shoe. Lastly i added my birthday and my home town.

I arrived in class and on my table was this sheet with a flowery mandala on it. I noticed everyone else was colouring their pages so I joined in. I was highly engaged with this picture and even when the facilitator was talking I continued to colour while listening. I enjoyed being intricate and careful with my design and chose colours i love and made it as symmetrical as possible.

I was given a blank piece of paper, a string, and food colouring. I started with blue and aimlessly dragged the string across the page. Doing this felt quite freeing as usually when I engage in art I try to be as perfect and thing about every brush stroke or line I add to the page wheres here I had no plan and could simply enjoy the process of making marks with colour and no intended outcome of how my page should look at the end.

In this class we had to pair up and draw the person opposite you without looking at the page, this was very hard to do because I couldn’t tell where I was drawing and how it was turning out. This is the picture my partner drew of me, the colour was added by me after the fact when we got to make it our own by adding to it.

I broke the page into four sections and drew things I love or enjoy in each section without explaining it to anyone or adding words. I them swapped my picture with someone else and had to try interpret their pictures to find out more about them. This was very hard even though the pictures seemed obvious to the person drawing them other people struggled to interpret them. For example I drew a plane over my boyfriend as he enjoys aeroplanes and is intending to work with them in the future, other people interpreted this as i enjoy travelling with my boyfriend.

We used the light on our phones to create shadows with our bodies and another person traced the shadow creating a piece of art using light and different angles.
