A - Venice was the main trading hub for the world of the Renaissance. Venice is where most communications with the other world would happen, at this time Venice was an economic and diplomatic powerhouse. The Islamic world is the biggest factor of changing the understandings of Europeans at the time. Trading with Islamic and Mediterranean countries became such a lucrative relationship, that the entirety of Europe felt the economic growth. This allowed for the ability of Europe to start trading their yields for things like art and ancient texts. There were three main sources in which Europe gained these texts, Persia, Ottoman Empire and the Mamluks. These three sources had previously decoded and researched the text of ancient greek works, the now curious and deep pocketed Europeans then took to trading for these decoded texts. Essentially, and in simple terms. Europe gets rich off trade, buys books from islamic and egyptian countries and gains knowledge the Greeks had formulated many many years ago.

The transition was of course not made right away. It took an undetermined amount of years in order for changes to be made. It is believed that these changes were made in order to recover from the hard times of the dark ages. The renaissance is different from the dark ages because it is an age of new ideas. The word Renaissance is French and means rebirth. The reason why this period was called rebirth was because this period was a rebirth of ways of life and thinking. Answer:
There are many important and interesting inventions of the Renaissance era. While the invention of the Printing Press was very important, the invention of gun powder proves to be more significant. Gunpowder was invented in around 850 A.D. The Chinese used gunpowder for uses such as launching fireworks, but it was the Europeans who used it for firearms.

The Mona Lisa is probably the world most well-known piece of artwork. It was painted by Leonardo da Vinci who was known as the ultimate “Renaissance man” because he practiced many configurations such as anatomy, visual arts, botany, flight and hydraulics. Leonardo actually designed the first original blueprint of the modern day helicopter. His most famous artistic works consist of The Mona Lisa, and The Last Supper, The Virgin of the Rock and The Vitruvian Man. When he drew the Vitruvian man, Leonardo spent significant time dissecting human bodies and study the muscles and bones inside so that he could draw them as accurately as possible.

The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci
 
It is known that this famous painting has many hidden meanings.
Some people argue that the woman next to Jesus is Mary Magdelene.
Vatican researcher Sabrina Sforza Galitzia claims to have cracked the mathematical and astrological code contained in the half-moon window above Christ’s head and that it would have some sort of meaning about a “Universal Flood” that might happen in the future.
 
 
Francisco de Goya, Naked Maja (Prado Museum, Madrid)
 
This painting is considered as the sexiest painting of all time.
There are many theories to who is this drawn woman. Some think that it is Manuel de Godoy’s mistress who was the prime minister of Spain during the Peninsular war.  Others believe that it is Maria Del Pilar, the duchess of Alba, known to be beautiful.
 
 
 
Hans Holbein the Younger, The Ambassadors (National Gallery, London)
 
This painting suggests that these two young man are rich and healthy but the weird diagonal blur in the middle at the bottom suggest something else. 
This shape is actually believed to be a skull from a special perspective. The idea of memento mori, which is the reminder of the death was common in Arts but it is unknown why would it be attached to this painting of two French ambassadors in London.
It is believed that this painting was meant to be hung in a stair case so that the passing householder would encounter the hollow-eyed skull as a salutary reminder of death.

Many historians don't believe that the Renaissance has a place in history - it's just this weird, untimely slice - most historians don't consider it an era. Although the Renaissance is considered a "time of transition" - the argument is that every time has transition (the Renaissance is not special in it). There is an agreement that it was an exceptional time for art - but at the moment, that is the only general consensus. There are many famous things from this time period. Things like artwork and statues. Some of the more famous things from the time period include, Mona Lisa painting, last supper painting and David the statue. Mona Lisa was painted by Leonardo da Vinci in 1503. This painting is probably the most famous painting to ever exist! The Last supper painting is a painting to show what people believe the last supper with Jesus looked like. This painting is one of those paintings that 600 years later people all over the world can easily recognize this. David the statue one of the most famous art pieces in the world! It was made by Michealangelo (not the turtle) in 1504. This statue is in Florence on display. Art was a huge remembrance from this time period and these are just a few examples.

The period is called the re-birth because at that time, people started taking an interest in the learning of ancient times, in particular the learning of Ancient Greece and Rome. The Renaissance was seen as a "rebirth" of that learning.

The rebirth is kind of symbolising the "rebirth" of how people think/ how their minds have shifted.

The Renaissance marks the turning point in Europe. Inventions, modernisation, and new discoveries all occurred in this era. Even though there is still debate over if the Renaissance actually counts as a period in time, the creations and discoveries that were made are undeniable.
