Mr. Martinez is a Spaniard. He is not well-known by most Belgians. As a manager Mr. Martinez rarely shows emotion and always keeps his calm.  Some would even call him a bit boring. But he really is a smart and ambitious man. He has a group of very talented players to work with now and we hope that together they will go a long way in the world cup.

Different channels broadcast different soaps. They all have their specific viewers. We have both ‘home-made’ and foreign soaps. I remember that in the early eighties a Brazilian soap called ‘Isaura’ with Lucelia Santos was very popular here in Belgium. Nowadays the two most popular soaps in Belgium are ‘Thuis’ (meaning: home) and ‘Familie’ (family). Both are Belgian productions.

Two months ago I went to see the Belgian U21 team in their EC qualifier against Hungary. I could easily get there because the game took place in Leuven, where I study at the university. The Belgians won 3-0 and are currently on top of their group after 7 games. There are players who play in Europe's top competitions such as the Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1.  So it's sure they are a talented team but they still need to grow and improve if they want to compete with the current Red Devils. Let’s hope some of them will help Belgium to lift the WC trophy in Qatar 2022 :p

“It looks like an innocent game but be aware, it is not” says The Center for Alcohol and other Drug problems in Belgium (I kid you not!). Because the game is played in group it puts a lot of social pressure on the gamers to continue playing.
