Description
Biotechnology is based on the biological systems of living organisms and on how they can be applied in various fields not only to innovate but also to find ways the human well-being can be benefited. Some of these fields are the pharmaceutic, environmental, food and energetic industry.
Why I chose it
Personally, I've always been very interested in science, but also in ways we can protect the environment and the society's well-being. These are topics crucial in the career.
Also, this career, specifically, has a very wide laboral field, which for me is very attractive, given that I'm not really sure what I want to specialize in.
How I see myself as a professional
Since I was little, lab practices and science work has excited me. Therefore, I see myself working in projects related in bettering our environment, using the different sciences learnt in biotechnology.
Scientific knowledge
- Biotechnology
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Electronic
- Biochemistry
- Molecular genetics
Area specializations
- Pharmacobiology
- Food industry
- Environment
For all of these specializations it is necessary the scientific knowledge explained before.
I'd choose pharmacobiology, which is directly related to the career, because it focuses on using science in health investigations where biological processes can improve the way of living.
