Although I have many songs that are important to me one of them is Sweet Creature by Harry Styles. This was the first song I heard from him ever since One Direction and I remember falling in love with this song. I love how in the song he goes to say that no matter what happens between us you are always my safe place, my home. One movie that is my all-time favorite that I could watch multiple times is La La Land. Seeing it for the first time made me really interested in acting and music. My favorite part of the movie is when they tell the story of what could have happened with their relationship is just amazing I loved it. After seeing that movie I listened to the soundtrack all the time and I still listen to it today.
three things about me
- my favorite color is green
- I love fashion
- I collect crystals

McCarthyism is a campaign against suspected communists in the US government. This was started by Joseph McCarthy. McCarthy would use resources from his agency to hunt down suspected communists and eliminate them from any influence with American society. Hollywood Studios, Universities, and car manufacturers were using the same political test on people who worked for them. Joseph McCarthy used American paranoia and fear by having lists and persuading people that they are working with traitors. In the second video. Once McCarthy was getting noticed, many would come up to him and ask for names of who was a spy and all he said was that there in the paper work or he would say that they will release names, but they never did. But because he said he had a long list of the people many were paranoid and started to not trust the people that they worked with.

Yes Katya is justified to have those feelings about the Rocky movie. Katya is a goodwill ambassador and promotes good relations and peace between America and the USSR. She is also from the USSR. Seeing how terrible she was portrayed and how her country was portrayed made her feel terrible and made her not feel respected at all. People that live in the USSR most likely had the same reaction to the movie like Katya. Rocky the USSR a false stereotype. The film could be fair and less biased by having people who live or have lived in the USSR also work on the film also. If they did do that then we could have seen the Soviet Union's stereotype for the US but also the USSR would have been true to what it actually is. The people would not have felt disrespected when watching the film if the workers who worked on Rocky opened up to the people in the USSR and let them share their opinions and ideas before they started to make the movie. That is how Rocky IV could be fair to both sides and also less biased in favor of America.

I am not sure what to expect from this film. I know that I will keep an open mind when watching the film. But because we have already discussed a little bit about the film and other problems, it gives me a small idea on what to expect, but once again because I have a small idea of what it is, I think it's best to keep an open mind. Ebert suggested that the movies requires you to decide what you think about it because he wants people to make sure that they are getting the correct knowledge from the film and be able to figure out the true message behind it. Having this hopefully one would be able to learn from the film and take in new information and be able to share it in a positive way and fully understand the message behind it.

Countercurle is a way of life and set of attitudes opposed to the prevailing social norm. In New York, there was the Beat Generation which came along in the 1950s. After a book came out by Jack Kerouac called, On the Road, the book changed what the Beat Generation is and gave it a new meaning. This book had a big impact on society. So much that Jack Kerouac was called the Godfather of the counterculture. Beat necks had coffee houses where there were poets and folk singers. People who enjoyed the music agreed with the way the singers looked at life and the world. Bob Dylan came along and took Beat energy and mixed it with folk culture, creating this new sound that many loved. Music was changing quickly. From the way, it sounded and its location. Music was no longer happening in New York, it was now in LA. Famous bands, actors, and artists all moved to Laurel Canyon. In this place were young singers who were discovering a new way of life and being around one another helped create this community where everyone was able to express themselves through their music. Having more of this freedom kids were no longer listening to their parents’ music, they had their own and more kids rebelled against their parents and society’s norms. A rebellious path many kids would take was using marijuana and LSD. LSD was discovered by Ken Kesey and this was when the counterculture in California was born because of the popularity that LSD grew. Kesey believed that people will see more on the drug and wanted to get as many people as he could on it. He was known as the “Grand Poobah” in San Francisco in the 60s. In San Francisco was the Summer of Love. Throughout the summer every weekend to go to Haight-Ashbury to love and only share the love with others. The Summer of Love created a further gap between the older generation and the younger generation. A battle between them continued and did not stop because of this unknown and clarity the older generation had.

Kurt Cobain was regarded as the “spokesman of a generation” by so many young people because many could relate to him in many ways. In his music he is angry but doesn’t know why he is. Many younger people can relate to that annoying feeling. Lots of the music they make has lots of emotion and can get really personal. “Most of the music is really personal as far as the emotion and the experiences that I’ve had in my life,” Cobain says. When sharing his story and talking about his childhood, many young kids can relate to it. For example at a young age his parents got a divorce and that hit him hard. He was also open about his sexuality and saying for a while he thought he was gay and his experience with that and figuring out who he is. During the time lots of singers and bands would only write about girls and how everyone loves them. Even in interviews it wasn’t normal for them to be so open about their struggles. Seeing this new side of music and the stories Kurt Cobain told, it made the younger generation feel comfortable to be themselves, to be vulnerable more and to know that they aren’t alone and it’s ok to feel this way. Cobain created a new way of expressing oneself.

Cobain doesn’t like the title. “I’m a spokesman for myself,” Cobain says. He says that he’s confused about the same thing everyone else is and doesn’t know why he is given that title. Another reason why he doesn’t like the title is the way he gets treated differently. He doesn’t like how everyone treats him like a god. For example he refused to go in a limo for their Saturday Night Live appearance. Being treated differently goes against his way. His music was just supposed to be kind of underground and he did like how everyone enjoyed it but being treated different because he was so popular was something he disagreed with.

Why?

I was surprised when they were talking about the making of Something in the Way.
