There are many factors that need to be negotiated when striving to create effective global policies even if there is one common goal in mind. There are factors that need to be negotiated such as access to health services, government responsibilities, health organizations' responsibilities, who has control over policy, etc. For example, in the Nigerian polio crisis, the president was unwilling to use vaccines on its citizens and thus the international community began diplomatic negotiations with Islamic nations. These negotiations took place with religious leaders from Islamic nations and organizations to help resolve the issue by showing them the promising results of the polio vaccine.

It is essential to collaborate with other organizations/multi-stake holders in order to enable additional resources, new perspectives, new relationships, specific expertise, etc. By fostering international collaboration, we can respect the international community's interests, share resources, and unify to tackle health crises as one big collaborative team. For example, when Nigeria’s president realized the Polio health crisis needed much attention he began to collaborate with pediatricians to help decide the use of vaccines and implement them.

For example, all the health inequities we encounter or diseases are not just matters relating to health but are complex and linked to other social determinants of health. Essentially, integrating health policy considerations into every aspect of policymaking allowing for better population health.
