Solutions:
1.Make it out of plastic
2.Make it detachable into 2 pieces(30cm each) for easier portability.
3.Increase thickness from 1mm to 1.5mm to reduce flexibility
4.Round off the corners till there are no sharp edges as to estimate the horizontal line or vertical line, the lines on the ruler can be used to do so.
