**We will be taking the ch. 41-60 test this week and then continue reading. Ch. 61-68.

The book will culminate in a field trip to see The Wild Robot in the movie theatre! The movie is on October 4th.

Permission Slips are due on September 27th. Please fill these out and return asap.

In writing, we are moving into a unit combining letter writing with information writing. Students will write a report (the CA Travel Project) pretending to drive around California to visit important cities and towns. On this "trip", students write pretend postcards to friends/loved ones with information about the sites, natural resources and fun at each spot. Please look for more information to come in the following week or two.

Students will make dough maps of California to mimic a topographical map. We will ask for some parent help for this project. Please send in dough if you are able to help out. Recipes went home last week.

We will merge social studies and writing with the CA Travel Project.

This week we finish with making "Egg Racer" cars to explore this topic further.

*September book AR test must be taken By September 30th.
